URCA’s competition function extend to all electronic communication sector services related to the provision of content services including broadcasting; networks and carriage services; and any other services and/or facilities provided by means of, in association with or in facilitation of any network or carriage services.
Competition issues include, although may not necessarily be limited to:
- Anticompetitive Agreements
- Abuse of Dominant Position
- Merger Control
In March 2010, URCA published Competition Guidelines. These guidelines outline the scope of URCA’s functions in competition matters, and also provide guidance on how a competition complaint may be submitted. It also outlines URCA’s investigation procedure.
